- I went on monday in Transdnietria, Transdniestra is a region of moldova, but in fact this small territory consider himself like an independant country. The self declared republic of transdniestra is one of the world s last surviving bastions of communism. So They have their own president (his name is Smirnof..like the vodka brtandt!!!!), their own currency (you can find this monney only in transdniestra), their own flag, police forces, border,...The astmosphere there is really strange, really quiet. There we speak only russian, and we see lot of astatue of Lenine. THe main street calls karl marx. At the border, police forces looked for something wrong in my bag and my passport. THey asked me to open my wallet. Fortuntalty my money was hidden is my socks. Un fortunately for them, they didn t succed to bribe me.
- I met a moldovan student in the station..Johny. He invited me to his home. So on sunday we went with a friend of him to his parents home in the countryside. After an hour ...squeezed in the minibus we at last arrived at Voriceni. There wasn t ashaphlt in the street of that village. It had rainned the day before, so the path was really muddy. After a long walk we arrived at his house. His sister cooked for the lunch. After the lunch he showed me the cave, there they stock lot of stuff for the winter. THey conserve vegetables, fruits, ...as her gramdmother in westerne europe. Lot of moldovans make their own wine. I tasted to red and the white wine.., the different kinfd of vodka and other stuff that i still don t remenber of the name. Well ..quiet hard to go out from the cave. Johny s parent are working in odessa in ukraine...in order to earn money to finish the house construction. It s the case for lot of family...parents work abroad..I have mercy of the young children who stay alone at the house...the case for the cousin of johny who he s 9 years old. Anyway I had a wonderful time ...quiet different from the vibrant chisinau city. For the moldovans it s hard to work abroad, because they need visa for all the countries exept ukraine, russia and cuba...
- I think that it s the only one country in the world where You have to pay if you ask an information at the train station, if the recepcionist have to write the answer on a paper it costs you third more, and if he prints the information, it costs you five times more. Nothing free, even in a nice restaurant, sometimes you have to pay to go to the bathroom.
- I went to Millici Mis, the biggest reserv of wine in the world (it s readen in the world record guinness book 2006). The ve done caves in the ground, at 100 m deep. There are kilometers and kilometers of caves. We find there moldovans wines of course but also lot of wines from other countries. Rich russian man stock their bottles of wines in that places. Unfortunately I was hard to get the village by bus. Staff said me that today it s full and I have to resern 4 days before. I didnt get into the cave I didn t spend 300 Lei to visit that (tant pis pour eux). THat s the moldovan welcome and moldovan efficiency!!!
